Wootton Primary Celebrate Recent Ofsted Review!

Wootton Primary School Celebrates Potential for Excellence in Recent Ofsted Report

We are very pleased to report that Wootton Primary School is celebrating a significant milestone, exceeding expectations in their recent ungraded Ofsted inspection. While maintaining their “Good” rating, the report states that “the evidence gathered suggests that the inspection grade might be outstanding if a graded (section 5) inspection were carried out now,” highlighting the school's exceptional progress. The school joined the trust in January 2020.

This achievement reflects the school's ambitious journey since its last inspection.  Wootton Primary instils high aspirations in its students, fostering a love of learning and a drive to excel.  The inspectors themselves commended the school's positive environment, stating, "Wootton Primary School is an ambitious and inclusive school. The school's curriculum is aspirational. It is designed to develop pupils' character and their passion for learning."

Wootton Primary, a treasured village school with over 150 years of history, fosters strong community ties.  The report acknowledges this, stating, "the school has established strong links with the local community. As a result, the school has a nurturing, family feel.” One parent shared, “Children are not just a number at this school. They are part of a community. Staff genuinely care about all aspects of your child's development, not just the academic.”

The report further praises the exemplary behaviour of the students, noting, "pupils' behaviour is exemplary. They conduct themselves with respectful confidence.” The report goes on to say that, “Pupils work with excitement, interest and enthusiasm. Pupils talk about their achievements with a mature sense of pride. Pupils are happy, polite and well mannered.” One pupil shared, “My school is special because it's just a nice place to be! The teachers make our lessons fun, interesting and enjoyable."

Wootton Primary's dedication to inclusivity extends to students with SEND. The report states, "pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) make strong progress from their starting points. There are clear processes in place to identify and support pupils with SEND."

Looking ahead to the next graded inspection, Wootton Primary and the Trust remain dedicated to achieving an “Outstanding” rating.  This pursuit is fuelled by a commitment to exceptional teaching, unwavering support for students, and the school's core purpose of "developing a child’s sense of self, sense of others and sense of the world."
