We're delighted to welcome The CE Academy and Huxlow Academy to the Tove Learning Trust family. The Northamptonshire-based schools joined us in September 2022, becoming our 12th and 13th schools to join the Multi Academy Trust.
The CE Academy is our first alternative education school to join the trust. They provide effective education for young people who are permanently excluded from school and dual registered pupils. CE offers an environment in which pupils can be encouraged and supported to make the right choices which lead to positive outcomes. There is a clear focus on ensuring all young people have the best personal development and educational provision available and secure post-16 destinations.
“Since joining Tove Learning Trust in September 2022 we have already benefited from extensive support, with both staff training and professional development and from working closely with the TLT Central Team to enhance our links with Local Authorities. The collaborative approach taken by the Trust fits with the values and ethos at the heart of CE Academy. This supportive working has added value and impetus in delivering on the priorities as identified in our School Development Plan. We look forward to continuing to identify, contribute and benefit from the opportunities of being part of a TLT”
James Thomas - Headteacher, CE Academy
Huxlow Academy is the ninth secondary school to join us. Located in the heart of Irthlingborough, they provide high-quality teaching in a supportive environment where every student matters. Huxlow Academy and Rushden Academy work together to be strong partners in the post-16 learning community known as ‘The East Northamptonshire College’ (TENC). Both schools have an excellent tradition in examination success in A Level and BTEC courses and year on year students gain places at top universities including Oxford and Cambridge.
"We are excited to be moving into the next stages of our improvement plans as ‘Huxlow Academy’ and as a part of Tove Learning Trust. This signifies a new era in the school’s history and as we continue to build on the effective actions we have been taking during 2022, we are already seeing great benefits from working with the wider group of schools and the central team at TLT. The opportunities presented by enhanced collaboration, support and challenge will only accelerate these improvements further."

Jamie Clarke, CEO of Tove Learning Trust, said:
"We are delighted to welcome colleagues from The CE Academy and Huxlow Academy to the Northamptonshire hub of the trust. Huxlow Academy is already working in partnership with Rushden Academy to provide exceptional post-16 education to young people in the local community. We look forward to developing links between these schools across all year groups to ensure every pupil flourishes.
The addition of CE Academy brings a new dimension to the trust and we are very excited about expanding our educational provision to support pupils who would otherwise be attending mainstream or special schools. We look forward to working together and gaining new insights to support pupils who face challenges in accessing education."
